Central Wyoming College Counseling and Career Services provides a variety of counseling services to current and past CWC students to facilitate meeting their educational goals. Services include career counseling and assessment, academic skills development and personal counseling. These services may be offered individually, in groups, in seminars or workshops, and some can be offered long distance via web-camera or telephone. All counseling services are offered free of charge to CWC students. The Counseling Office works from a short term treatment model. If it appears that you need or want long-term therapy, a referral will be made to the appropriate resource.
Students of Concern and Student in Crisis - Making a Referral
Do you know a student that may be depressed? Do you know a student that may be angry? Are you concerned about a student and want to do something about it? There is a team of staff members on campus that you can make an official referral to for action that WILL take place to attempt to help the student, coordinated by Counseling Services and the Associate Vice President for Student Services.
For mild and moderate concerns, that would not constitute an emergency, this would be a Students of Concern referral - Contact the Counseling Services Office at 855-2175, or via e-mail, or stop by MH123F.
For a Student in Crisis referral, when it is a severe or emergency concern, you may likely contact 911 or Campus Safety at 855-2143, and also fill out this form and turn it in to the Counselor or Campus Safety.
Either of these will start the process and action WILL be taken! If you aren't sure what kind of concern you have, contact the Counseling Services Office at 855-2175 or Campus Safety at 855-2143.
There are a variety of services available on campus that you or someone you know may be needing, including helping with any student issue, academic advising, tutoring, disability services, off-campus employment, financial aid, retention and transfer assistance, and minority services. Take a look at this referral guide for the contact information for these services!
