Athletic Training

Associate of Science Degree

If you like sports and medicine, why not combine the two and help athletes move toward victory? Learn to keep them healthy. Consider a career in Athletic Training.

The Athletic Training program/degree prepares the student for appropriate procedures in the prevention, care and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This program is designed to transfer students to a four-year institution where they can continue their education to fulfill professional requirements such as those governed by the National Athletic Trainers Association  (NATA).

Transfer Information

Students planning to transfer to another four-year college or university are advised to obtain a catalog from the institution to which they wish to transfer. Using Central Wyoming College’s catalog, along with the four-year institution’s catalog and advisement information, the student will be able to make appropriate decisions for maximum transferability of his or her courses.

Career Options

Bright career outlooks for athletic trainers, coach and scouts, plus agents, business managers and athletes. Other career choices include teaching, doing clinics, or working in health/fitness/sports clubs. If you want additional education, you can focus on becoming a sports medicine physician.
